På Avlscenter Rønshauge A/S værner vi om samfundet, og den tillid vi har fået fra nærområderne. Derfor arbejder vi konstant på at være så miljøvenlige, som det kan lade sig gøre. Vi ser fremad og implementerer løbende nye teknologier i vores svineproduktion, og vi formår at udnytte de nye muligheder, teknologien giver os, så vores aftryk på miljøet bliver så minimalt som muligt.

THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO CSR:

Manure cooling:

We have about 15 km of slurry cooling pipes embedded in our slurry tanks, whereby we are able to reduce the slurry temperature to approx. 4-6 C-degrees. By reducing the slurry temperature, we are able to reduce the ammonia evaporation by approx. 28%.
Another major environmental benefit of our slurry system is that we can generate heat from the slurry ammonia, which then acts as the primary heat source in our primary production including administrative facilities and some employee living facilities.

Air cleaning system:

We have established a high-developed air cleaning system in our production facilities that cleans the ammonia from the air within the production. The collected ammonia is through a special designed system used for heating – just like the slurry system listed above. This provides great flexibility for us, as we still are able to maximize the use of our production and even in a environmental positive way during different seasons.

Intelligent heat lamp drivers:

Vengs heating lamp management system is installed in all our farrowing sections and climate sections.
The computer control manages the heating systematically according to pre-coded figures and ensures a perfect microclimate in all our lairs hereby reducing energy in daily production. We are very pleased with this innovative system and can highly recommend it for professional use.

Intelligent lair cover:

Also from Veng, we have the new intelligent management system installed in all our climate lairs for our small pig production. This has reduced our annual energy consumption by approx. 85% in these departments. Through this system we have optimized the micro-environment within the lair’s – especially during our hot summer periods. It’s an intelligent management system, which completely manages the individual lair environment and saves us a lot of employee resources. 

Water supply:

We have established an underground water tank of approx. 45m3 that enables us to collect water at night from our community waterworks. We are hereby able to reduce the water supply cost and minimize interruption for the local community’s water supply as our consumption of water has increased tremendously over the years due to our expansion of our production facilities.

CO2 controlled ventilation:

This Veng system has been installed in most production sections and works by automatically calibrating the entire ventilation for oxygen consumption within the respective sections. This gives an extremely good working environment for our employees – especially during start-up and cleaning of the respective sections during daily operation where the level of oxygen is lower.

Slurry Transport:

Many years ago, we have established a permanent underground slurry pump line network of 2.7 km. This network connects our production facilities to most of our slurry tanks over several properties. We are hereby able to pump a large part of the slurry underground to our buffer-tanks on our fields in different location and hereby minimize the burden of high traffic intensity with our heavy gear for our local community.
25 years ago, we started to distribute “slurry notes” to all our neighbors who would be affected by the slurry transport 2-3 days before planned slurry operation to pre-notify them.
